Friday night dinner at Frenchman’s Reserve, and the benefits to Country Club life. Frenchman’s Reserve I commonly talk about as being one of my favorite country club communities around and here is an example. I get to the club at 5:45PM and bring my 2 year old over where they have an activity planned for him and food and fun planned for him. I take a beautiful walk upstairs to the main dining hall in which it is all you can eat lobster night. W. e bring 4 of our friends with us and get our table. A quiet night with the kids downstairs having fun and where the adults overeat lobster. The meal begins with a beautiful salad bar with all the best and freshest fixins. There is a raw oyster bar and some of the largest shrimp you have ever seen on this bar. There are hot dishes as well, I didn’t look that hard as I don’t want to waste to much appetite on anything but lobster.

You ask for the number of lobsters you want and they crack them and serve them to you. The food is amazing and the atmosphere. This Frenchman’s experience is just one of the many great Frenchman’s experiences.

At the end of the night, we pick up two very tired and happy children and all is well. This Palm Beach Gardens community has it all!!

 Loggerhead Park

Loggerhead Park was named such because it is a haven for nesting Loggerhead sea turtles during the summer. The eggs are protected securely, but you may sign up for a guided walk during the period when they are hatching. The park has 900 feet of guarded beach, a tennis pavilion with four courts, lots of picnic areas, a playground and a great nature trail. The county’s Marine life Center is also located on this property.

This amazing center shares with museum visitors the arrival, treatment, and release process of sea turtle patients. Complete with pictures, equipment, displays, and a behind-the-scenes visual tours of the LMC Rehabilitation Department and research projects on a video screen in the exhibit hall.  Individual turtle stories will enlighten patrons on a sea turtle’s plight from injury and illness to a road of recovery and release.

 Jonathan Dickinson State Park

Located just south of Stuart, this park teems with wildlife including sand pine scrub, pine flat woods, mangroves, and river swamps. The Loxahatchee River, Florida’s first federally designated wild and Scenic River runs through the park. Ranger-guided tours of the 1930s pioneer homestead of Trapper Nelson are available year-round. Visitors can enjoy paved and off-road biking, equestrian, and hiking trails. Boating, canoeing, and kayaking along the river are also great ways to see the park. Anglers can fish along the riverbank or from a boat. The nature and history of the park comes to life through exhibits and displays in the Elsa Kimbell Environmental Education and Research Center. Programs for the kids, or for the whole family, are also offered here. The park also offers two full-facility campgrounds and a youth/group primitive campground. Visitors can arrange boat tours of the river and rent canoes, kayaks, and motorboats.

 Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse

This beautiful lighthouse is one of the oldest structures in Palm Beach County. Visitors can take the Tower Trip climbing the winding 105 steps to the top and an amazing view of the pristine waters of the Atlantic. The Lighthouse stands on a natural hill of shell and marine sand about 41k feet With submerged reefs and sandbars causing innumerable ship-wrecks over the years, Congress in 1853 finally appropriated approximately $35,000 to erect “a first-order lighthouse,” to mark the reef lying off the Jupiter Inlet and act as an aide to navigation. Enjoy some of our history by visiting the Jupiter Lighthouse on Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. Volunteers man the lighthouse for the Loxahatchee Historical Society.

  Dubois Park

Jupiter’s beautiful beachfront Dubois Park is a good place for the true nature lover to spend the day. Its abundance of sideways-walking hermit crabs will thrill any child and the water in the lagoon is so shallow, once could bring a chair and sit in it. The beach area is small, but it is guarded during the winter and on weekends and holidays. The Dubois Pioneer Home and the Indian Mound historical/archaeological site are also located on this property. Admission to the park is free.
