Carlin Park
This multi-purpose park offers 120 acres of fun and relaxation, this park has enough to keep you busy all day long. Relax along the 3,000 feet of guarded beach, snorkel along the rocks or participate in a variety of other water- sports. Carlin Park has plenty of Florida fishing spots, 6 tennis courts, baseball and multi-purpose fields, an amphitheater, 3 children’s play areas, bocce ball and volleyball courts, a 1.4 mile 20 station exercise course and plenty of picnic shelters with grills and tables, including 27 family and group pavilions. There is even the Lazy Loggerhead Café for guests to grab a snack or a drink. Be sure to stick around for some of the concerts in the park that take place at the amphitheatre, as they have a full season of free shows that are sure to delight audiences. The park is open from sunrise to sunset with the lighted locations open until 11 PM. There is no admission and over 435 free parking spaces. With something for everyone, Carlin Park in Jupiter is a wonderful destination for family fun and for those wishing to enjoy all that South Florida beaches have to offer.
Loggerhead Park
Loggerhead Park was named such because it is a haven for nesting Loggerhead sea turtles during the summer. The eggs are protected securely, but you may sign up for a guided walk during the period when they are hatching. The park has 900 feet of guarded beach, a tennis pavilion with four courts, lots of picnic areas, a playground and a great nature trail. The county’s Marine life Center is also located on this property.
Loggerhead Marine Life Center of Juno Beach
This amazing center shares with museum visitors the arrival, treatment, and release process of sea turtle patients. Complete with pictures, equipment, displays, and a behind-the-scenes visual tours of the LMC Rehabilitation Department and research projects on a video screen in the exhibit hall. Individual turtle stories will enlighten patrons on a sea turtle’s plight from injury and illness to a road of recovery and release.
Jonathan Dickinson State Park
Located just south of Stuart, this park teems with wildlife including sand pine scrub, pine flat woods, mangroves, and river swamps. The Loxahatchee River, Florida’s first federally designated wild and Scenic River runs through the park. Ranger-guided tours of the 1930s pioneer homestead of Trapper Nelson are available year-round. Visitors can enjoy paved and off-road biking, equestrian, and hiking trails. Boating, canoeing, and kayaking along the river are also great ways to see the park. Anglers can fish along the riverbank or from a boat. The nature and history of the park comes to life through exhibits and displays in the Elsa Kimbell Environmental Education and Research Center. Programs for the kids, or for the whole family, are also offered here. The park also offers two full-facility campgrounds and a youth/group primitive campground. Visitors can arrange boat tours of the river and rent canoes, kayaks, and motorboats.
Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse
This beautiful lighthouse is one of the oldest structures in Palm Beach County. Visitors can take the Tower Trip climbing the winding 105 steps to the top and an amazing view of the pristine waters of the Atlantic. The Lighthouse stands on a natural hill of shell and marine sand about 41k feet With submerged reefs and sandbars causing innumerable ship-wrecks over the years, Congress in 1853 finally appropriated approximately $35,000 to erect “a first-order lighthouse,” to mark the reef lying off the Jupiter Inlet and act as an aide to navigation. Enjoy some of our history by visiting the Jupiter Lighthouse on Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. Volunteers man the lighthouse for the Loxahatchee Historical Society.
Dubois Park
Jupiter’s beautiful beachfront Dubois Park is a good place for the true nature lover to spend the day. Its abundance of sideways-walking hermit crabs will thrill any child and the water in the lagoon is so shallow, once could bring a chair and sit in it. The beach area is small, but it is guarded during the winter and on weekends and holidays. The Dubois Pioneer Home and the Indian Mound historical/archaeological site are also located on this property. Admission to the park is free.
Dubois Home
Take a look at how life once was at this modest pioneer outpost dating from 1898. Sitting atop an ancient Jeaga Indian mound 20 feet high and looking onto Jupiter Inlet, it has Cape Cod as well as Cracker (Old Florida) design. Located in Dubois Park, worth a visit for its lovely beaches and swimming lagoons. The park is open dawn to dusk.
